Malin Appelgren
Director

Malin has broad expertise in communications and advocacy work from the public and private sectors with an expertise in healthcare. She is an experienced advisor to Paues Åberg’s clients and supports companies in handling complex business challenges in politically controlled environments.

Her experience in healthcare spans several areas. Prior to joining Paues Åberg, Malin was most recently Associate Director of Government Affairs for the American pharmaceutical company Gilead Sciences. In this role, she was responsible for leading, developing, and implementing the company’s Government Affairs strategy in the Nordic region. Malin has also worked with health care issues as a political officer for the Social Democrats in Region Stockholm. As a former consultant at Paues Åberg (2015-2020), Malin worked closely with clients from the pharmaceutical and med-tech industries.

In addition to Region Stockholm, Malin has political experience working in the Swedish Parliament and government offices. Her network includes contacts within politics, patient associations, interest-based networks, and civil servants in health administrations.

Malin holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and degree in Public Relations from Berghs School of Communication.
